Delivers power, performance and reliability The D-Link DGS-1005D is a desktop switch that offers an inexpensive alternative to fibre optics for the SOHO and small and medium business (SMB). Increasing network loads can be handled with the increased bandwidth of Gigabit Ethernet. Gigabit connectivity without fibre The switch provides 5 Gigabit ports in the familiar Ethernet format, so it works seamlessly with existing network cables (Cat5 or higher). Up to 2000 Mbps can be achieved in full-duplex mode, giving workstations bottleneck-free access to server data. Plug-and-Play installation All there is to do is plug the cables into the switch. All ports support both straight-through and crossover cable types, eliminating the need for an uplink port. With 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-sensing, no configuration is required. How it works? By automatically detecting the cable length and sensing the on/off status of connected devices this is how the Green Ethernet range reduces power consumption.
